Is Bridgy a bank?
No. Bridgy is a group of technology companies, not a bank, payment institution or e-money institution. The Bridgy app is a self-custodial wallet: you hold the keys and approve every transfer. Stablecoin balances are not bank deposits and are not insured.
Can I download the app?
Not publicly yet. The Bridgy app is in private testing on iOS and has no public App Store listing. It will roll out gradually, and availability will depend on where you live. Join the early-access list and we'll email you when a place opens.
What are digital dollars?
Digital dollars are USDC, a stablecoin designed to track the US dollar. The app shows them in dollars, next to the token amount. USDC is not issued by Bridgy, and stablecoin balances are not bank deposits and are not insured.
Which networks does the wallet support?
Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, BNB Chain, Avalanche and Solana. Your balances across them add up to one total in dollars.
How do swaps work?
You choose what to swap and the app quotes one step. Swaps are routed by third-party solvers, independent services that fill the order, including across networks. A Bridgy fee and network fees apply, and both are shown before you confirm.
Can I take my wallet to another app?
Yes. You can export your private key at any time and use the same wallet elsewhere. Keep it safe: anyone with the key controls the wallet.
Who provides the wallet technology?
Wallet infrastructure is provided by Privy. Your wallet's keys are created when you sign in with Google, Apple or email, so there's no seed phrase to write down.
When will the Bridgy Card be available?
The Bridgy Card is in development. It will be a Visa card issued with a licensed issuing partner and will roll out country by country. We don't have a date to share yet.
Will tap to pay work at any contactless terminal?
No. Tap to pay is being built for Bridgy Pay tills, where the amount and the shop will come from Bridgy's server, never from the till. It is in development.
What happened to the previous Bridgy app?
The previous Bridgy app was run by a different company and is being wound down. If you used it, please read the notice for users of the previous app.
